How the pandemic changed our beauty & self-care routine: maybe for the better?

How the pandemic changed our beauty & self-care routine: maybe for the better? Covid & Self-care. As the saying goes; “Never let a good crisis go to waste”. Covid has affected everybody, and most of us have been confined to our own homes. We have seen our normal routines completely evaporate; dressing up, getting ready for work/school, etc — our usual daily routine has truly taken on a new meaning during this pandemic. And we had to adapt like crazy, sometimes for the better and sometimes for the worse. But when it comes to self-care and/or beauty routines, what has actually changed in the last year?

Bye bye make-up! Hello skincare! Needless to say, I haven’t bought that many new make-up products this last year and, honestly, it has been hard! My products seem to last longer and I have been more mindful about using them. Wearing a mask is compulsory in my country of residence, and so it did seriously affect my choice to wear make-up. My signature look has always been wearing red lipstick – but – after a gruesome embarrassing afternoon when I was walking around with smudged red lipstick on my cheek, I stopped wearing my lipstick on a daily basis. The inside of my mask truly looked like a Picasso painting and I even contemplated selling it on ebay! That’s when I decided, bye bye make-up (on a daily) and hello skincare!

Selfcare routines. Yes, there are still ample moments when we do wear make-up; important zoom calls, walking dates, posting a tutorial or simply living your best life and wearing it for fun (because you’re worth it)! But what has shifted is our skincare routine. Take advantage of this crisis and build a solid skincare routine. From clay masks to day-and night crèmes — the time is now! Luckily, we offer amazing products to help you find your skincare routine (shop here)! So, when this pandemic is finally nipped in the butt, we’ll all glow just a little extra.

With love,
